    If all you morons want to think there is something else after you die, then what were you before you were born? You must be like my wife and believe that "Plumbers" really can become paranormal experts, tour the world, and have ignorant hopefuls like you believe it and fund it by watching the stupid c**p. Forget what "you were told" Have YOU really had a paranormal experience. Honest replys only please.

    well the movie said on it that it was based on a true story, as far as credits go if you wait long enough the credits do show after avery long black spot on the dvd, of course it would be acters playing the people if the dude is dead and the woman is either dead or missing, they wouldnt show the actual film more then likely they would show a reinactment of the actual tape, real or not it is one freaky movie. something happened did katey kill him and is she out there still? the alternitive ending is nothing more then its possible what ever killed her removed her body if they never found the body the ending since nobody really knows where or what happen to katey is speculation, could the rest be based on truth i believe personally all things are possible just some things are highly improbable, so yup it could be true.

    no it wasn't based on a true story but, if anybody does want to watch something related to demons possessing people AND based on a true story, you can look up: "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" it was a cool movie, I liked it very much

    OK ALL of you guys are obviously high. It cant be based on a true story cuase Katie dies at the end.....or at least she deos in the alternate ending. if they said that Katies Whereabouts remain uknown and she obviously died at the alternate ending. DUH. Besides have any of you guys watched that interveiw with the director he said NONE of that movei was REAL AT ALL!!!! DUH

    no ghosts cannot do things like that but there are other things out there called demons and they have been known to really cause h**l and be real physical to anything that tries to mess with them research it

    I was based on a true story i mean it shows the year it happened and all the dates it happened and they said they never found katies body but they found his. also theres no credits at the end of the movie telling who played the characters or showng who made the movie. That was the best movie of the decade. The derector even said he heard strange noises and things falling of sheleves and breaking in the house explain how thats not fake.

    I believe it was not based on a true story, I am not very faithful when it comes to spirits and ghosts, it was very entertaining, also scary but it is highly unlikely that was a true story because for one, they used actors so that rules out that that was the real videos.Also,if that did happen I would guess they would use the real videos.Also, good response Leonardo

    I thought it was because of the whole format and because they had the facts at the end.. But Can A ghost really do half that stuff. The whole movie creeped me out..

    No it is not. Its a movie directed by a B list movie director named Oren Peli. He was afraid of ghosts himself and had a few paranormal experiences in his house so he made a movie off a 15 grand budget called paranormal activity. It was shown at Slamdance festival in 2007 and than brought before Miramax. It recently was produced by paramount and shown in select theaters to determine critical reception.
