Hi There, If the funds were solicited for constructing a new church building, with no commitment to build in a specified location, then the donors may have no recourse. If a location was specified and the church leaders build elsewhere, then they may have obtained the donations fraudulently. I say "may have" because I don't have all the facts in the case you describe. If donors feel they have been financially damaged, then they could consider discussing their options with an attorney familiar with nonprofit law or church law in their state.
