setting timing. i have a 97 nissan pathfinder, i need to set the timing but would rather not tear

i have a 97 nissan pathfinder, i need to set the timing but would rather not tear everything apart to get at the timing marks. do you know of an easier way to accomplish this or do i just need to take it all apart?
