   i think it is much better if we use the product-based assessment.. because through the final product we can see how one exerted his effort to come up with what he has.

   Process-oriented performance-based assessment is concerned with the actual task performance rather than the output or product of the activity. Recent studies proved that it is also important to focus on the processes which the students underwent in order to arrive at these products and outputs rather than to focus only on the actual products or outputs.
