   Hi, If the camcorder is on but the viewfinder screen is still black, it could be a loose wire or bad connection between the viewfinder door and the body of the camcorder. Shut the door and then open it very slowly, to see if the picture comes back. If you have an older Canon camcorder with record and playback controls and a small viewfinder on the outside, you may be able to use the camcorder without the screen. If you have a newer model or a hard drive camcorder, your menu controls will be on the touch screen, requiring a technician to fix it.
