Question:

is 2gb dual ram better than 3gb single

i am running windows xp 32bit - i have 6 gb of ram available in two matched pairs but i can only run 3gb on the board according to the manual if i am running a 32bit os- i had to drop to 3gb to install xp recently and now the system although running a clean boot of xp still reboots itself from time to time - fatal error blue screen
i am using ddr 3200 400 ram sticks and i have 2 x nvidia 8500 gt running sli as well
processor is quad core 2400 i believe
please could you advise best ram configuration as i think ram is the issue
