We are putting in a new drip edge on an eave where we have had water leaks all along a 12 foot length. The pitch is 7/12 running in to 12/12 gables on either side of 12 foot length. We will need to cut fascia first, as we have been told it is to high, causing a flat area near original drip edge. When we put down new drip edge, how far in from the outer edge should we nail, and what is the recommended distance between nails on the length? The drip edge is 3" x 6" (with the 6" part to be laid under the felt and shingles) x 10 foot long. We are going to use two pieces. Second question, what should the overlap be where the two pieces meet:
