I have a 2hp 4 gallon tank air compressor.
When I turn on the compressor, it works correctly and when it reaches proper pressure (120psi?), it turns off.
The problem occurs when the pressure reduces to the point where the compressor wants to turn on again.
It tries to pump, but cannot. It just stops and hums.
The only way I can re-pressurize the tanks is to reduce the internal air tank pressure to less than 30 psi. Then the pump will operate correctly and build pressure to the 120 psi.
What is malfunctioning?
