   Sorry for the late answer, maybe it might still help. It's always good to be yourself, but if you know how the others may react to your "way", you might want to try something more to their level, without changing your "way". For example: If you are a silly, funny sort of person who laughs at stupid things that don't make sense (like me), I would suggest to lay down on the stupid talk a little, and try to contain your urge to laugh at silly stuff as much as you can when its not appropriate. But if everyone is exchanging stupid talk, be my guest and talk all you want without overdoing it. Then, when you know the girls/boys for some time, you can start acting how you really are without having to worry about what they think, because they will accept you for who you are :) Hope it helped, at least for future reference. (This is out of personal experience, I've met new people before and I was afraid to act like I usually am near them, but then I got to know them better and I was acting stupid in no-time) :D
