I have two Danby's and they had a poor design with the thermostat to close to the cold plate on the bottom. There are several ways to correct your problem. Open the little screen on the bottom side and pull out the thermocouple and add acouple feet of doorbell wire and relocate it to the top of the keg. You can also install a 100k resistor in parallel with the thermocouple to make the unit get colder. I did both and mine have been working great for the last two years. GOOD LUCK

It is likely in the middle of defrosting. It will go into a defrost cycle every so often at which time the temperature can get as high as the low 50s.
