Very new rider here. I need tips on starting from a stop to first gear without the engine stopping on me. Also, changing gears smoothly. My clutch & throttle movement seem to be off so the bike jumps a little. Also, what is the best time to change gears? What RPM should I be at to change to a higher gear?

Normally the speed and sound of the bike tells when to change gears, but if you are new you can go for speed limits. There are speed limits for each gear that will be mentioned in your bike catalog or you can check it from the internet.Still if you don’t find any such information then you can go for the sound of the engine,if you feel that engine is making too much noise, also the response of throttle is has less effect of speed you can change the gear.
