Finding an old war film.

I have been thinking of this film recently as i watched it when i was younger, and it has stuck in my head, but i don't know what the title is, can u help. All i can remember is the ending, its a black and white war film and this guy is trapped under a plane but the plane has to land and this will kill him. As the plane lands this cartoon thing appears under the plane, its in color, and they manage to get him out. then the cartoon thing disappears and the plane crashes down. I really hope you can help me.

    The above mentioned seen is taken from the movie “The Mission”. It was released in the year 1986. It is a British drama which was about the Jesuit missionary, this took place in South America. The film was written by Robert Bolt and the name of the director of the movie was Roland Joffe. The cast of the movie included Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Ray McAnally, Aiden Quinn, Cherie Lunghi and Liam Neeson. In the year 2007, it was elected as number one on the church time. The music was composed by Italian composer Enrio Morricone. It was also named on the number 23 for the AFI’s 100 films of the year. The film was set in the year 1750’s. It based on the programme Jesuit Reductions, it is a program by the Catholic church.
    The living of Rodrogo Mendoza was kidnapping to earn his living and sell them to near plantations. He cares for his both brother Felipe and his fiancée named Carlotta. Carlotta later reveals that she has now involved in love with Felipe. Mendoza when finds them together he kills Felipe. Being guilty of killing he falls into depression.
