   any engine would work, depends on how its connected & how you go about fitting it in.

   Yes but you have to swap the intake manifolds with fuel injectors and sensors from the OBDII 96 Lumina on to the OBDI donor engine. Although sensors may look the same they are not and you'll have starting problems, rough running and check engine lights if you don't swap them.
