    Hi There, Never tried to eat small mullet but im sure you can. Mullet needs to be skinned and any dark streak removed, then dipped in flour or cornmeal and deep fried... It might be a good bait for Reds. My experience is that frozen bait works better for bottom fishing on wrecks or artificial reefs farther off shore.. The best thing for reds is L-eyes if they are running. or some other kind of live bait. hope it helps
