Hi,..my thought is that you are overwatering the poor plant. Bananas are 85 % water but they do not want to sit in it. A good weekly watering will make it very happy otherwise it will rot. If you dug it up and seperated it from another banana plant then water once and not again till new leaves appear, as the plant has to regrow its roots. From a container a good weekly watering.
