What versions of SQL Server supports ADO.NET ? Where can i download the SQL Server for free (may you recommend me the website)? After i install the SQL Server on my computer, HOW can i start my SQL server ?

    Every version of SQL Server is supported by ADO.NET. After installation SQL server is automatically started (runs as a service in the background). You don't need to explicitly start SQL Server. Microsoft has released free version of SQL Server, its called SQL Server Express Edition. You can find SQL Server 2005 Express Edition here [http://www.microsoft.com/Sqlserver/2005/en/us/express.aspx] and SQL Server 2008 Express Edition here [http://www.microsoft.com/express/sql/default.aspx].
