YAMAHA piano serial number. I live in Vancouver canada, one of the largest cities in Canada. I want to buy a second hand YAMAHA piano for cheap without paying too much money. The serial number is D3556384. I checked it on the yamaha website, but it says that this piano is not manufactured for North America players. I want to know

-what the "D" that procedes the serial number stands for.
-where is it manufactured in?
-what year was it produced?

And also, is it good to buy piano that was made for Japan? I read that canada is dryer than Japan. Is it going to be a big problem?

The price is $1400, so is it worth it? and also, my piano level is level 9, is this model suitable for me or is it better if i just purchase a yamaha piano from my local tom lee store that costs about $6000?

Better be careful, pianos manifactured for north america especially canada are done in a very different way and the cold weather is counted for.  you also would have to look at parts and servicing if something goes wrong. so i would suggest to stay away from it.

i bought a yamaha piano in korea and i have seen online that some pianos were made just for the asia climate. is this true? we are trying to sell the piano but don't want to sell in to an American family if the piano should stay in Asia. also, bought the piano new a year ago. has the value of the piano diminished at all? should the selling price go down significantly from what we bought it for?
