I am currently using Windows 98 and I have Windows Media Player 7.1. Up until now I have had no problems with it, but when I am streaming video from a website that uses a “pop-up” window with the streamed video in that pop-up, I noticed that the controls for the player are those of Windows Media Player 6.4, and not 7.1. I know for a fact that in the past when viewing the video from this site, that the controls in the pop-up window were those of WMP 7.1. I have tried some other sites that use “pop-up video” and I am seeing that same problem with them as well.
If the streamed video from a site is to be played directly in Windows Media Player, then WMP 7.1 opens, and it plays there. Any site that involves a pop-up window with WMP embedded in it, though, seems to be reverting back to 6.4. Am I losing it, or is there a setting somewhere that has been messed with? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling 7.1, but no luck – it's the same problem, still.
I hope you can help me, or at least point me in the right direction.
Regards,
