Dynex is a Best buy brand, BUT I asked them who made it. They told me its a mass manufactured tv made ALMOST completly out of LG parts. Cheaper only because of mass manufacturing.

Dynex is the Best Buy store brand.  Best Buy can tell you who manufactures the TV.  I was having trouble with the programming and talked to Time Warener.  They said the Time Warner remote I was using was too old to work with the Dynex TV.  The newer Time Warner remotes have the Dynex information coded into them.  Time Warner said they would be glad to swap out the remote.  If you want to find out if your Time Warner remote is too old call Time Warner and  give them your remote model number and ask them if Dynex is in the list.

Does anyone really know who makes Dynex?  My cable tech recommended the brand and told me it is made by Sony.  He has two and is very pleased with them.

I asked a tech a simple question re the small size of the channel number on my 26" unit. He wants $14 to answer. Did I make a big mistake buying Dynex??

I have a Dynex 46" and the sound is HORRIBLE. very tinny. I'm thinking I need a soundbar. Anyone have a suggestion of which one would be compatible?

hello i work for Bestbuy, the Dynex and Insignia brand are both made by LG. they are both store brands of ours. they were designed to compete with the top name brands while still offering an affordable price. it is always recommended to do the                                             gsbtp-r (Geek Squad black Tie Protection/replacement) this is a service plan where if something happened to your tv -theft, if you brought it in remote and all and we cannot fix it, you get a replacement. this is great because if you decide you want to upgrade your tv experience to a brand you feel more comfortable with, you just pay the difference of price. so during this shopping season, remember to add this extra service. it truly is peace of mind. THIS PROTECTION IS OFFERED ON MOST HIGH END GAMES, GAME CONSOLES, AND SO MUCH MORE!

I HOPE THIS HELPS!, Julian : Cypress,TX bestbuy

I have a line running down my 32inch dynex. It come up 2 months after warrenty run out. Stay away from dynex or get a longer warrt.
  22. Guest17251901
I just bought a Dynex 42", I had a problem at first setting it up with the HDMI cable because it is not compatible with all the new updates Time Warner has. But if you connect it with the cable that Time Warner gives you it will work. The picture is great and, I believe, for $120 dollars you can get a 4 year warranty that if anything happens to it Best Buy will fix or replace it.

    I believe LG makes them.

Dynex is a Best Buy brand, as well as Insignia, as others have mentioned. Regarding hooking this TV, or and A/V product for that matter, you want to use the highest(newest) Audio/Video connection your two devices both support. These are in order of quality of connection: *HDMI -Single HDMI(HD Multimedia Interface)cable that carries both audio and video in one HD digital cable. *Component -3 RCA cables (Red, Grn, Blue) that carries HD Video only. Audio is carried on either single cable Optical(best audio)or Composite RCA Red White cables *S-Video - Single cable that carries Video only. Audio is carried on same ways as Component above. *Composite -3 RCA cable, Yellow Video, Red stereo audio, White stereo or Mono audio. Use the highest quality interconnection about that both devices you are trying to connect have. If you are interconnecting HD Video and both devices have either HDMI or Component jacks, then it is worth buying either one of these cables if you have neither, HDMI being the best. If you have a Component cable, then it is probably not worth buying and HDMI, although it is very much cleaner physically (1 cable as opposed to 5 for Component). S-Video and Composite interconnects would OK for HD, but you would notice a lower difference in Video quality.

Got a Dynex at Best Buy 1 year and 9 months ago, it now has a couple of black lines going through the picture. Conveniently, right after the warranty expires. The only thing you can do about it is get a service tech to come to your house, for $150, and tell you too bad, there is nothing they can do. Spend the extra $ and get a good brand, it may last more than 2 years.

We have a 42" Dynex LCD TV. We have had it for almost 1 year and our only complaint is the sound. Great picture, no problems with both cable and dish companies. Hope this helps!

    who makes dynex

i bought a Dynex 42" @ BB for $549 recently. I've had it about a monmth, and I'm pleased so far. HD feeds look great. normal feeds are good. I use it as a computer monitor as well as a tv. it does seem that the video never fits just right, when in widescreen some of it is chopped off. my only complaint. For $550, i'm not complaining. Don't know who makes it, not important, from what I've read LCD's are considered very dependable, and can be expected to last.

I have this TV, and am quite pleased wuth the picture overall. I hooked it up via HDMI, and tailored the settings to my taste. The manufacturer is Xoceco, which stands for "Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronics Company." I know, because I did a lot of research on this unit, and even spoke with a rep from Xoceco, who verified that over 90% of Best Buy's Dynex brand are made by Xoceco. They also make a good portion of the Insignia lineup. They manufacture TVs for over 160 brands worldwide, 12 of which are U.S. brands. They manufacture products ranging from entry-level to fairly high-end. They manufacture over 5% of TVs worldwide. Cosidering the number of brands that exist, that's pretty impressive. They assured me, LG does NOT make any of the Dynex brand products. Xoceco has manufactured for SEC, Sanyo, Polaroid, and many others. At one time, they were sole manufacturers for Audiovox. The Dynex brand has, according to Xoceco, been a tier two out of five in regards to quality, competetive with other entry-level models on the market. The Dynex brand is now at about tier 3, marking a deliberate increase in product quality, and being about mid-level in quality. This denotes mainly the new Dynex products released this year. Like I said, once I used the right connections, and dialed it in, it looked nice. Not Samsung or Sharp nice, but fantastic considering the price. This unit represents fantastic value. Also- notice the Blu-ray players are always hooked up to the expensive TVs at BB, while the less expensive TVs are on a video feed. You cannot make a fair comparison like that. It's one more way to get you to buy a more expensive TV.
