I think it's the Holocaust, when Hitler became the dictator in Germany. He basicly persued Jews because he thought they were a lower race... and thought that they (germans) were the "aryan" race. He then sent them to concentration camps, after that, they were sent to build "Death Camps" such as Autchwiz (dont know the spelling), where they were worked to death or gassed. They were still experimenting with gassing and used "gas vans" and 1000 jews died a day. After the experimentations with gas vans, they noticed it wasn't fast enough and decided to build "Gas Chambers". In this gas chambers they could fit 700-1000 Jews at once. About 7 million Jews died because of the Holocaust. SO i think it was the BIGGEST MASS MURDER

For physical butchery, possibly the Mongol incursions of the thirteeth century, or the campaigns of Tamurlane in the fifteenth.

If you're talking about one guy at one time, it would probably be Richard Speck. He killed 8 student nurses in Chicago in the 60's.

Everyone has the pre-conceived notion that it was the holocaust. but it was not.

With regards to numbers "The Great Leap Forward" in Communist China was the largest genocide in world history. It is impossible to know the true numbers because every single aspect of the GLF was lied about, but now it is estimated at somewhere over 30 million people.

The Great Leap Forward was not an order to execute all those 30 million people, but rather an economic plan that was so poorly executed those 30 million starved to death.

The Holocaust was very well-organized. But the Soviet Union under Josef Stalin had widespread death (millions and millions of people), poverty and suffering. It's just covered up better.

ovbously i would say the holocaust but id also have to say the US civil war. it wouldnt be classified as a "mass murder" but it would be a horrible thing to kill your own brother or father and watch them die in front of you...

the holocaust for sure.

but if your looking for something OTHER than that, the dresdon firebombings and others like it were intense along with hiroshima and nagasaki were even more brutal.

this is one very violent world, is it not?

Hitler's massacre of the Jews (holocaust) without even a close second. Just curious, how do you consider a mass murder as great? Did you mean to say the worst mass murder?

Amity.... I think you mean Ted Bundy coz Al Bundy was a character on the TV sitcom 'Married with children' hahahahahaha. Besides, comparing Hitler to Bundy is like comparing a barrel to a thimble. If you give a thumbs down I'm gonna sock ya in the nose.

I would have to say that the various purges and other actions of Joseph Stalin's regime generated far more casualties than any other mass murders in history.

Kill Count: 50 million after all famines and purges (note, many of these were indirect).

As far as sheer numbers go, I'd say the great leap forward in China, but that wasn't intentional. But, i'd say Jack the Ripper, because he terrorized the largest city in the world at the time, and is still a great unsolved mystery. no one knows who he was. Yet, he was still able to strike fear into the hearts of millions, and even still today, his name strikes fear into everybody who hears his story.

Have you people ever heard of the US Army dealing with the Native Americans?/

That would make Hitler look like a school boy fighting at recess

I think they are still the forgotten people in this country

Im sorry but all you ever see on here is 90% jews and slaves

Those people are still going through that Crap and you talk about 65 or a hundred and fifty years ago

well i'm pretty sure that it was in the 1930's and 40's and is kinda famous. i think it was around 6 million people killed, and i'm almost positive that there are movies, books, and TV shows about it... its the haulocuast

NONE of them are exactly great. I would have to say Robert Pickton (going through the news like crazy) he killed and chopped up a whole bunch of prostitutes in BC. He burried them out at his pig farm. SICK.

and there is hitler too... he was pretty funked up.

The greatest mass murderer of all time was Mao.

The second was Stalin

and the THIRD was hitler.

most killed by a regime;

Communists and Stalin: It is calculated that the Communist regime, 1917-1987, murdered about 62 million people, around 55 million of them citizens.

but, the number 1 in the shortest amount of time is;

Mao Tse Tung: During the years 1958 and 1959, China experienced what was hailed by Marxists as the "Great Leap Forward." During this time, Mao Tse Tung's regime was directly responsible for between 30 and 40 million deaths.

By comparison, the Holocaust saw 9-11 million people dead a result of Hitler and the Nazis.

most killed in a day;

  The Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima killed 80,000 which is probably the highest civilian death toll in one day

most killed by one person;

   A 16th century Hungarian countess named Elizebeth Bathory (August 7, 1560 - August 24, 1614) is said to have killed over 600 young women. She was convicted of only 80.

TAKE YOUR PIC.
