Medicines for diabetes are insulin and glucose lowering pills which are called oral hypoglycemic drugs. People who have type 1 diabetes are unable to make their insulin. They need to inject insulin daily into their body. Insulin does not come in the pill form. Injections are needed one to four times a day. Some people use the insulin pump for the injection of insulin in the body. It is worn all the time and it delivers a steady flow of insulin throughout the day. Some of the other people use inhaled insulin.
Unlike type 1 diabetes , the type 2 diabetes might respond to treatment with exercise, diet and medicines which are taken by mouth. There are many different types of medicines which are used to lower blood glucose in the type 2 diabetes.
Medications might be switched to insulin during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Exercise plays an important role for the people who are suffering from diabetes. It helps in controlling blood sugar, weight loss and high blood pressure. People with diabetes are less likely to have a problem of heart attack or any kind of stroke as compared to the people who do not exercise regularly.
You can choose a physical activity that you like and is appropriate for your fitness level.
