What is the carbon content in these five alloys 1040, 5140, 4340, 4140 and 8640

Determine the hardnesses of these alloys at the surface and center, if they were quenched in moderately agitated water. Comment on which of the alloys satisfy the requirements, (please show all your working out)

    sorry additional information to this question A cylindrical component of diameter 50 mm will be made with alloy steel. The candidate materials are 1040, 5140, 4340, 4140 and 8640 alloys. The component will be austenized and quenched in moderately agitated water or oil and the surface and center hardnesses must be at least 52 and 48 HRC respectively.
