   Sialkot is an industrial city of Pakistan. It is situated in the north-east of the Punjab province at the start of the snow-covered peaks of Kashmir near the river Chenab . It is the capital of Sialkot District and, formerly. It has remained the winter-capital of the State of Kashmir. The city is about 125 km to the north-west of Lahore and Indian-controlled Jammu is only a few kilometres from it.
   It is Lying between 32°30′ North latitude and 74°31′ East longitude at an altitude of 256 m above sea level, To the north of Sialkot is Jammu situated in Indian controlled Kashmir while to the north-west is Gujrat, a city of Punajb, Pakistan located on GT Road. Gujranwala is located on the west of Sialkot whereas Narowal is on the south. The direction of Chenab river flow is to the north of Sialkot. Three small seasonal streams are also passing through the city which are Aik, Bher and Palkhu.
   Sialkot has a humid subtropical climate according to Koppen climate classification. Sialkot is chilly during winters and hot and humid throughout the summers. May and June are the hottest months of the year. The temperature during winter may fall to 0°C. The land of Sialkot region is, generally, plain and fertile. Most of the rain falls during the Monsoon season in summer which usually causes flooding. Sialkot has gotone of the most modern state of the art weather forecasting and flood warning centers in the country, which is fully equipped and operational to record.
