I want to know about the non conventional sources of energy. Please elaborate it. Thanks!

There are many sources available naturally for producing energy. We use different sources to produce energy for getting it in a cheaper and easier way. Those sources of energy which are produced by nature continuously and are in exhaustible are called renewable sources of energy (or) non-conventional energy. The other is called conventional energy Some of these sources are: (a) Wind energy (b) Tidal energy (c) Solar energy Non-Conventional Energy Sources
(a) Wind energy There are two main factors that cause winds. 1. First is the absorption of solar energy on the surface of the earth and in the atmosphere. 2. Second is the rotation of the earth about its axis and its motion around the Sun. A wind mills are used to change the kinetic energy of moving air into Mechanical energy. It can be either used directly to run the Machine or to run the generator to produce electricity. (b) Tidal energy Tidal waves are generated primarily because of the gravitational attraction between the earth and the Moon. They arise twice during a day in Mid-Ocean. Its range is only a Meter. In a tidal power station, basically, water at high tide is at start trapped in an artificial basin and then allowed to release at low tide. The escaping water is used to move water turbines, which in turn move or drive electrical generators. (c) Solar energy Importance of solar energy: The Energy we get from the sun is known as solar energy. The energy of the sun comes from nuclear fusion reaction that occurs deep in the Sun. In that process hydrogen nucleus fuses into helium nucleus. The energy from these reactions release from the sun and escape into space.
