   The Bay City Rollers were Scottish burst musicians who were most well liked in the 1970s. The British Hit Singles and Albums documented that they were "tartan teen feelings from Edinburgh", and were "the first of numerous actions proclaimed as the 'Biggest Group since The Beatles' and one of the most screamed-at teeny-bopper actions of the 1970s". For a somewhat short but fervent time span (nicknamed "Rollermania"), they were worldwide teen idols.    Bassist Alan Longmuir, his junior male sibling Derek Longmuir, a drummer, along with school ally, lead vocalist Gordon "Nobby" Clark based the assembly in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1966, as The Saxons.
