    Wow i like your site!

hello, I found your website accidently and I am amazed to see what you have
    linktomysite.com

I found your page on stumbleupon and its great! linktomysite.com

Above are two very common examples of blog comment spam! The basic purpose of the people behind this blog comment spam is to build links that can be useful for their websites but too many outgoing links from your pages harm your ranking. If you are using wordpress for blogging, I would advise you to use Akismet plugin, it stops lot of spam. Further never let the comments auto approved, always keep new comments in moderation and manually approve them. I know it is difficult, but this is the only way. And yes, there are some plugins that can ban specific IPs from which spam comes, but that option has limitations too as it may block many other useful users from same IP as well!

Blog comment spam means either manually or automatically via a software program adding low value or no value comments to blogs. The basic purpose behind the spam comment is getting traffic from the blog where comments are being added. These spammers add their link within the spam comment and blogs where comments are not moderated, their comments get approved instantly and hence they get backlink and traffic. As time passes both manual and automated blog comment spam systems are evolving to look more like legitimate comments. I have seen some automated blog comment spam systems that have multiple fake personas that converse with one another.
