What has happened to my friends face book profile pictures? names but no picture.

I have all my face book friends names but everyone of their profile pictures are gone. All I have is a list of names. If I go to their profile it is the same. Just their names. What in the world has caused this?

    Why is it to impossible to see your friends in the gallery, I am no Bill Gates but you should be able to click on friends on face book and have an easy option, help please
