Cencorship needs to be viewed in the context, in which its placed. Censorship to some extent keeps a vigilant eye on immoral and unethical content present in print and visual media, but some times the authority in order to meet its vested interests, places unjustified censorship on all sources of truth, hence depriving the general public from accessing the truth and reality.

Censorship, to an extent, protects the vulnerable in society. However, if we sensor out everything that may be objectionable, it doesn't allow people make their own decisions about what they do and don't want to view. In a sense, it limits their freedom of decision. Governments often use censorship to keep their citizens in the dark on certain issues, or to ban various viewpoints from being heard. The Hitler book burnings of the 1930s were a form of censorship.
