I thought "G" in the Packers logo stand for Green Bay, but it's not. What does it stand for?

The “G” in the Green Bay Packers logo was thought up and designed by George Braisher, the team’s equipment manger, in 1961. The “G” is often mistakenly thought to represent “Green Bay”, but when the logo was first approved, it was agreed upon that the “G” would stand for “Greatness”. The team has used a few different logos prior to 1961, but the “G” is the only symbol that has ever appeared on the helmet.

It is not an assumption or a thought up for debate. The "G" stands for "Greatness" and was created in 1961 by the Packers equipment manager.

It should be Greenbay... greatness is not a bad assumption too!
To most people's minds, the "G" stands for "Green Bay". However, when the logo was designed and adopted, it was determined the "G" would stand for "Greatness".
