There are some differences made to all new refreshed 2011 Lexus IS F, The revised version of IS F's exterior are fitted with LED driving lights, which is supposedly added to make the Lexus much easier to spot at high speeds. Working within a very tight budget, the chief engineer Yukihiko Yaguchi tells us that he was happy with the car's exterior styling as he also placed far more importance on than "taking the IS F to the next level in handling and in the ride quality." It is a Good idea, because the IS F was certainly in need of some extra level work in that area.
With its exhaust note, the IS F is gives a picture of beast, packing a power of 416 horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 mated to an 8-speed, flappy-paddle gearbox. But if pushed hard, the car's chassis would then become unsettled, especially at the rear end.
The power train and the car's 3800-lb curb weight remains the same, the suspension settings have now been totally recalibrated. This generates much greater traction and stability at even high speeds. An unexpected product of this revision is the car's much more compliant ride. Adjustments to the steering power-assist mechanism were made for more precise and the accurate turn-in as well providing the greater feedback through the wheel.
While accelerating hard and concentrating on the right lines around a track, a row of lights illuminate within the lower peripheral vision as it makes far easier to sense on-the-limit engine revs than the outgoing model. This new system lights one orange LED at the 5000 rpm, and the other at 5500 rpm and also a "shift now" red light at the 6500 rpm. An impressive 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds shows the power of V-8 horses.
