There are many factors which contribute to the bipolar disorder and it involves careful consideration of many factors. The health care provider can judge it by asking different types of questions from you:
First they ask about the family medical history of a person, particularly whether there is anyone who has a bipolar disorder or not. Then one has to observe the behavior and mood. Later on the test is performed through medical examination in order to identify the physical causes for this diseases. Another test is conducted to perform the thyroid problems or the drug levels. Later on speak out with the family members in order to discuss the observations about your behavior
Check out the medical history, which include medical problems that you have. The use of recreational drugs might be responsible for some types of symptoms, although this does not rule out the bipolar affective disorder. The drug abuse might be the symptom of bipolar disorder. The diagnosis relies on self reported experiences of the individual as well as the abnormalities in the behavior which are reported by the family members, friends or co-workers and are followed by secondary signs observed by the psychiatrist, nurse, social worker, clinical psychologist and also other clinical assessment. The EEG can be used in order to exclude epilepsy, and a CT scan is required to exclude brain lesions. The investigators are not generally repeated for relapse unless and until there is a proper medical indication.
