    In the South of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia rises with its grass covered and treeless mountain ranges. Asia's largest fresh water lake, Hovsgul Nuur connects Mongolia with the Russian federation. While northeren parts of the country are replete with rivers, marshes and glaciers. Westeren and notheren parts of mongolia are frequently struck by earthquakes.
