   Hi, Chainrings don't need to be brand-specific, but do need to match the Bolt Circle Diameter (BCD) You can measure this with a ruler, see: http://harriscyclery.com/chainrings for instructions and a conversion table. I don't know the BCD of your crankset, but my guess is that it's 144, so you really can't go any smaller than 42 without replacing the crank. If it turns out to be a smaller BCD you would have some options. The derailer is less of an issue than the crank. All the best,
