Dr. Engler, &#160;I had a tummy tuck June 4. &#160;There has been one section on my scar that has never quite closed up. &#160;I am on vacation and went hiking for a couple days and put a bandaid over the part that was not closed up. &#160;Now it is actually worse and is oozing yellowish fluid and some blood and it quite painful. &#160;I have not been on any antibiotics since the procedure. &#160;Do I continue to cover it with a bandaid or is there something better I can use. &#160;Also, do you think it may be infected?

Well, the wounds open up after an abdominal operation, because a fluid is pushing its way out, however, there can be many reasons for such openings. Human body normally takes alot of time to heal up such an injury. Wounds normally open up but typically this will happen in the larger framed patient or a smoker or diabetic. i would suggest you to contact your physician who did your operation.
