There is no a regular service for travelers from the UK or Europe to Central or South America. If you have some extra budget and time then it is easy to cross the Atlantic from Southampton to New York with Cunard. For this you can avail the services of an Amtrak train from New York to New Orleans then somewhere like El Paso, lined by buses down through Mexico. Alternatively, some freight ships have a fix numbers of visitor’s places, and there may be the occasional cruise specifically arrange in spring & autumn season when cruise ships relocate across the Atlantic. Unlike Europe or even places of Asia and Africa, Central and South America simply do not constructed an international rail network yet. International train services are almost non- available, and most journeys mostly be made by long-distance bus or plane. The Vitoria-Belo Horizonte journey is considered as one of the fabulous way to spend the day. If you are travelling on weekends, it is highly suggested that to buy your ticket two or three days in advance, as they may sell out immediately. Executive-class cars are relax and silent, although somewhat cold. Eatables are charged separately and can be given you at your seat. Drinks trolleys frequent available on both compartment. A perfect method to spend your time is to stand in the smoker’s area, where large windows are remain open throughout the journey. It is also a nice destination to engage in conversation with other passengers. The other regular train is a steam tourist oriented train but it provides transport in between two beautiful Brazilian tourist towns, Sao Jao del Rei and Tiradentes.
