Things are back to front

I'm not sure how to describe this but I'm setting up my first telescope the Astromaster 130EQ and the piece you s***w onto the mount seems to be back to front. The counterweight s***w is facing upwards not down to the ground. There doesn't seem to be any way to remedy this. It's like things are back to front, I've checked videos and with friends and nobody can work it out? Please help! Thanks.
