I've actually not seen many older films, but I'm happy to know that you're familiar with "The Very Thought of You" from 1944. Do you know, then, how or where I can buy or purchase a copy of this old film? Maybe a place that takes orders for out-of-print films or something? Many local movie stores I've tried only know of the newer film with the same title, and as I said, I'm not interested in that one, but the WW II classic.

The movie “The Very Thought of You” was released in the year 1944, It is a romantic drama film which starred Dennis Morgan and Eleanor Parker. It was about World War 2 and revolves around the American Soldier life who falls in love and marries a women.
Many films were ruined from improper storage, and unless someone who was putting films on video they were not put on, even some that are still in good shape.. Looks like the companies that buy the right to re-release these films would have a poll or a voting address where they could get input to know what films would be requested a lot, and would sell if the put them on video or DVD. In this movie Dennis Morgan played the role of Sergeant David Stewart, Eleanor Parker played the role of Janet Wheeler, Dane Clark played the role of Sergeant Fixit Gilman, Faye Emerson played the Cora Colton.
