   The Larapinta Trail has acquired an international reputation as a tough challenging trek, prompting National Geographic to number it among the top 20 trekking experiences to be had on the planet. Running 223 kilometers along the spine of the West MacDonnell Ranges, from Alice Springs to Mount Sonder, is the Larapinta Trail. This walk weaves itself amongst some of the world's most ancient metamorphic and igneous rock and boasts nearly 600 species of rare flora. While the overall trail has been designed for experienced walkers, selecting a different starting point can vary the difficulty and length of your experience. Guided walking tours, food drops and transfers can be arranged.
