The Nineteenth Amendment of the US Constitution restricts any United States citizen to be disallowing the right to vote based on the basis of s*x. It was confirmed in August 18, 1920. The Constitution permits states to find the qualifications for voting, and until the 1910s most states circumscribe women completely. The amendment was the conclusion of the women's strong movement, which fought at both state and national levels in order to achieve the vote right. In 1922 the Nineteenth Amendment was awkwardly challenged. In that case, the Supreme Court refused claims that the amendment was unconstitutionally approved. The US Constitution, approved in 1789, left the boundaries of suffrage undefined. This authority was implicitly delegated to the all states, all of which refused the right to women. Although several scattered movements and organizations dedicated to women's rights existed earlier, in the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention in New York is formed as the start of the American women's rights movement. Suffrage was not an aim of the convention, but its advancement was minimal in the decades preceding the Civil War. While suffrage bills were introduced into several state legislatures during this time, they were usually disregarded and some came to a vote.
