This sounds familiar and looks a lot like the problem with my map turtles. I took the turtles to couple of vets but those guys are useless; didn't have a clue but did tell me others are facing similar problem. Someone told me to do this: -increase water temp to 80 degrees F -lower the pH to 6.5 -wash shells with very diluted betadine every day he also "debrided" the white spots- which I wouldn't recommend because it left some damage. However, I did what any pet lover would do and used my nails to scratch the spots; it worked not bad. The betadine solution didn't do anything. the vet also recommended using silvidene ointment. You can order this over the internet- it's a burn ointment. I smeared that on their shells then put them in a dry tank overnight- everynight for 2 weeks and it looks like the white spots are gone.
