How thick does a piece of tempered glass need to be if the piece is 8ft wide and 14 ft tall on a storefront?

    minimum 25mm

    For a single lite window of that size it would behoove you to use 1/2" glass. If the window is to be an insulated unit than you can go with anything down to 1/8".
