Question:

Swollen inside my lip around my lip ring

I got my lip pierced about a month ago and well after a week my lip got swollen and the back of my lip ring was digging in to my skin because the bar was to short but while it was digging in to my skin I could see white stuff from the inside of my lip trying to go over the round part of the back well now it went down but I changed lip rings to a loop lip ring because I actually lost the ball from my actual ring but now that what stuff is there but it looks like a piece of skin sticking out right where the hole is for my piercing is that normal everyone tells me don't worry about it but I don't think I can for get about it I don't know what to do HELP !!!!!!!!

I woke up today and my lip was super fat and uglyive had my piercing for nearly 3 months now.
is it infected? and if it is is there a way i can get rid of the infection so i dont have to take out the piercing?

I had my lip pierced about 3 months ago with no problems. It started to get swollen the other night. When I woke up it was really bad, but no pain or discharge. It mostly gets swollen at night, and goes down a little during the day. My lip wasnt even swollen after the piercing.

Has this happened to anyone else?

i have the same problem, i have had mine for a week. and every morning it swells on the inside of my mouth and hurts. i dont know if thats normal, or if there is a problem, or if its because it was re-pierced in the same spot as the scar tissue from my last lip piercing. help please

i just had mine done 3 days ago, and i was fine i could eat ect.. but now my lip is so sore and fat, cant really open my mouth... someone told me to clean it with salt water, but by the looks of it its not working... what do i use???? need help

I have that problem too, and I've looked up a lot of stuff on it, most people are saying that its normal for that to happen, that its just part of healing. I've had my lip percing for about 6months now, maybe 7. I changed it the first time about a month after I got it perced and I lost the ball from the original ring/stud, so I kept my lip ring loop in for about 3months or so, now I just changed it to a stud that I got and its doing that same thing, its really swollen and stuff still. But people keep telling me its normal. So I would just tell you to keep it clean and don't mess with it. Goodluck!

I don't have an answer to the question but I do have the same problem. The back of my lip seems to be trying to eat the ball or something. Its freaking me out dude.
