Small black bugs with single horizontal stripe found on back? I keep finding these small tiny bugs on my bedroom floor and i hate them i even found them on the bed. they are very similar to beetles/sowbug with a black horizontal stripe on the back. There are both big and small i guess parents and the kids, the entire family or should i say tribes are living in my house. I have tried to clean the floor with all kind of stuff including vacuum but they keep coming back one way or another.
Can someone please tell me where these little buggers come from and what i can do to get rid or them.

Looking for answer...Found 1/8 inch beatle like bug with vertical strips that are tanish/yellow and deep brown by headboard.  The beatle either jumps or flies.  It is not a carpet or larder beattle, bed or potatoe bug.

    Thanks!

    Michael,

I found the same bug in my room one Sunday morning. It was crawling on top of my bed when i woke up. It was small, round, black and had a small stripe on its back does anyone know what it is? Please tell me because I found 4 in my room. It is still Sunday and I want to know so I know if I need to get rid of them right away. If anyone knows what it is please tell me.

This definately a Larder Beetle. When I was doing a search on the internet I kept coming up w/ Larder Beetle but the picture did not look like the bug I was seeing. Of course looking at this bug standing up and it usually on the ground or in my kitchen drawers or cabinets it looked like a small almost wide oval shaped w/ one off white/tan single horizontal stripe wide stripe in the middle of it's back. But when I found one in the dirty laundry that landed in my laundry room was tub I grabbed the camera. Took a few pictures when it would stop crawling. Surprised when I viewed it ont he computer and enlarged it. It was so different looking. It does actually have the spots and the two pincher antenna things in the front. Tam

I think they are Oriental Cockroach nymphs (baby oriental cockroaches). I had a recent infestation of adults and am now finding these same tiny black bugs with a horizontal white stripe. This is about the time adult eggs would have hatched. It's important to kill them now before they get old enough to breed.

I have just found the same kind of bug. Did anyone identify this bug yet? It is small, with a wide horizontal stripe on back. The ones that I have found were dead in my house. But yesterday, I saw one on an outside clapboard of my house and it had wings on it. It flew away before I could capture it.

Michael, I have been having the same problem. These tiny bugs are very distinct looking and I find them at very random times, sometimes weeks or months apart.. and usually one at time. Either while making my bed or sweeping up in my bedroom. I have not been to concerned because I have not had bites, nor have I had to many problems, but the fact that I find them in an arouind my bed is very unsettling. Ashton, P.S- The picture enclosed from Guest 4086 does not fit the description of the bug that I have found.
