Question:

Can I travel with Sinus infection by air?

I have a very bad sinus infection, as does my 18 month old child. We have a 17 hour flight tomorrow.

Is there anything we can do to lessen the pain? We're in a country where Benadryl is prescription only, so that's out of the question.

Also, is this dangerous? I've heard people say flying with a sinus infection is dangerous, but I'm unsure. We don't really have the option of rescheduling.

Dear Myself is ayurvedic doctor and I say that there is nothing to worry about flying when you have sustained sinus infection.Sinusites is not dangerous thing. As you are going to fly you need to take some precautions so that you do not face any untrodden incidence like of vertigo or giddiness due to sinusites. You just need to put medical cotton in both of your ear spaces and fill it up. You also try to drink as much water as you can . Try to sit away from blower of A/C in the flight so that you do not have direct contact with the cold air. Once you come back from travel you contact your nearest ayurvedic doctor for proper treatment of sinusites .Complete the whole course for sinusites and once you are cured of it by ayurveda you will not suffer from it again and again . thanks, dr anisha parmar For further assitance you may contact me at http://dranisha.blogspot.com +91 9898188942

You need to get a sinus rinse and use it twice during your flight. This will help keep your passages open and from getting a sunus squeeze due to the pressurized cabin. They sell "little noses" sinus spray for babies, which is just salt water. If benadryl is not available try sudafed sinus. Take at least an hour before flight. Drink lots of water, and try to keep those overhead air fans from blowing directly over your face. This will certainly cause more discomfort.

My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me --- my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.

    you need

    distilled water

    sea salt

liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.

in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.

add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.

using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.

Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.

The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.

Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.

Then do it once a week for maintenance.

There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.

I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.

    best wishes

Sinus problems can be extremely painful when the pressurization changes. I had this happen once and I thought that I was having a stroke. The pain was the worst that I've ever experienced. I won't ever make that mistake again.

Call your doctor and make sure that it's okay for you to fly. This is the wrong place to be asking for medical advice!

Try taking airborne? We have it in the states and it helps from spreading your germs and boost your immune system.
