Side Airbags did not deploy

I was hit on the side and my side airbags did not deploy on my 2009 Dodge Journey - there is a front airbag recall, but I do not see a side airbag recall - I want my car totaled out - if the airbags would have deployed that would probably put it over the thresh hold to be totaled - I do not feel safe in that vehicle and I KNOW if will never drive the same - Can I get any justice out of this accident that was NOT my fault? A car ran a red light and hit me,,,

Sometimes there is error in opening of side Airbags opening during the accident.There might be a problem in the sensors of the Door impacts, sometimes the sensors are set too low in such a way that the low speed impact do not result in the activation of airbags, also this might be the result of faulty IC’s on the electric board .Technical help from the assistance should be seen.
