shopping - Islamabad's wonderful Sunday Market, (Juma Bazaar) at the back of Aabpara Market, chunky Afghan jewelery and colorful fabrics are the most popular items. The tiny shops of Kohsar Market specialize in handicrafts. Throngs buy cheap clothes and toys at the huge Super Market and Jinnah Market, alongside a couple of decent bookshops. The Karachi Company by the local bus station is for sacks of rice, delicious local sweets and fruit and vegetables.
The narrow lanes of the old city of Rawalpindi are crammed with stalls in its traditional bazaar, each street market specializing in a different produce. For fabrics and handmade men's jooties (sandals), silks, pashminas and that made-to-measure shalwar kameez, go to Rajah Bazaar. Sabzi Mandi has fruit and veg; Sarafa Bazaar is known for its brass work and jewelery.
