I live in Ontario, Canada. I have been accused of shoplifting by a large retail store security and he called the cops. I was given a Provincial Offence notice with a charge of $65, commiting the offence of "Engage in prohibited activity on premise" contrary to Trespass to Property Act under the section of 2(1)(a)(ii). I was also told I am banned from that retail stores for 2 years and I have to pay a fine charged by the headquarter.
Does this offence leave a record? I am aware there are different types of background checks (criminal record, police record, etc.) I have to maintain a clean record for work related issues and I am terribly worried right now.. Please advise. Thank you.
