Shaking and vibrations above 70mph.

Hi there, I have a 2003 ford explorer 4.0 V6. I had new 20-inch wheels and 275/45/20 Goodyear eagle II tires on. I had it re-balanced and aligned. The shaking and vibration was drastically lessened but it still annoys me. At 70mph and higher I still have vibration and shaking of steering wheel. Is this normal for a large rim and low profile tires? Do you have any experience with these tires? Can someone out there give me any expert suggestion over this? I am really looking forward for this help. Thanks in advance for time.

    Hello there,

It depends a lot on the wheels and how well balanced they are. Did the folks who mounted them tighten the lug nuts to the right torque? They may have warped the rooter. Goodyear’s are not bad tires but anytime you go that big you ask for trouble. Even the Michelins have had uniformity problems with Tires, Rims, bent rims, warped rotors, tires not seated on the rims. You should check all these things and get the problem fixed by a good guy. If still you are not satisfied then go for new rims and change the company of tires. This is the best I can help you with. I can name some of the best tire companies here for you.
    Bridgestone
    Dunlop
    Michelin
    Bfgoodrich
    Yokohama
    Goodyear
    Kumho
    Pirelli
    Hanhook
    Continental
These are some best tire manufacturers in the. You can choose from the list and replace your old tires with. Best of luck
