My 66 Ford Fairlane Gt was stolen and the door was probably replaced because it holds the S/N there. Can ypu please tell me the different locations where the original factory S/N are stamped on the frame in case I find it and can prove it is mine! Thanks, Sabas.

Car's are stolen from almost every part of the world. Specially in America which is the biggest market of cars from the very first day car is being manufactured. You are rightly saying that probably door might be replaced and it contains the serial number over there. Well that is not the only identification in the car.

FBI have got such techniques that they can easily trace the ownership of the car with out wasting any time when they find any suspicious car around. You need not worry that how your car will be located when found. It is the duty of the police to identify your car for you if you have reported the theft with police near to your home. Usually when a car is stolen it is never used at the same place from where it is stolen. It is transferred to some distance place from the stolen area. The reason being the owner will recognize his car with very ease. So my personal opinion is that you will never find your car at the same place from where it was stolen.
But FBI has got centralized mechanism to tack down the stolen cars so need to rely on them instead for your own search. Because police have got ways to deal with the thief's but for a normal or common person it is never easy to cope with such negative elements of the society.
