Question:

Seat removal 750 nighthawk

I just bought a 1992 750 nighthawk in an immaculate condition and I was
giving it a look over, cleaning and such. I wanted to see what is under
the seat. Most bikes have a little latch hook type of thing or a key
release, but I could just not find anything to get the seat off. I
peeped and pulled and twisted but I could not find anything. Could
someone please tell me how to remove the seat?

The Honda CB750 is a motorcycle built in several model series between 1969–2003 and 2007 that is recognized as a milestone for Honda's successful introduction of a transverse, overhead camshaft inline four-cylinder engine that has ever since been the dominant sport bike configuration. The CB750 is recognized as the four-cylinder sport bike that had a lasting impact and is often called the first superbike. Actually, removing the seat from a late model CB750 is a major pain if you have the rack sissy bar. I have not worked up a good technique yet and I have had the seat off at least a dozen times. The rack blocks access to the rear of the seat, and the feedback from the key is not that great either, it springs back and you do not know if you have actually opened the sprawl as you cannot feel anything but the spring. The key hole for the seat lock is on the rear of the bike, next to the tail light.

There is a lock at the back of the bike. When released the whole seat should pull off.
